How to choose an Odoo partner in Saudi Arabia: 7 questions before you sign

Seven questions to ask any Odoo partner before you sign: official status, the team, industry experience, pricing, e-invoicing, support and data migration.

Choosing your Odoo partner matters more than choosing Odoo. The software is the same for everyone; how it is implemented decides whether it saves your team time or becomes one more burden. Here are seven questions to ask any partner before you sign.

1. Are you actually an official partner?

"Agent" or "partner" on a company website proves nothing. Odoo publishes an official list of partners in every country, and a company that is not on it is not an official partner, whatever its website says. Open Odoo's partner directory for Saudi Arabia and check the name yourself. We explain the terms on our Odoo partner in Saudi Arabia page.

2. Who exactly will work on my project?

Ask for consultants' names, not head count. A large partner may hand you to a new hire; a small one may give you its best person. Ask the consultant who will lead your project to join the pre-signing meeting, and ask about the last similar project they delivered.

3. Have you implemented my industry before?

Accounting for a contractor is not accounting for a factory, and a factory is not a retail chain. A partner who has done your industry already knows where the problems will appear: project costing, batch tracking, POS returns. Ask for at least one example, and call that client if you can.

4. How is the price built?

A good proposal separates three items: the Odoo subscription, paid to Odoo directly; implementation fees, paid to the partner; and support after go-live. If you get one number with no breakdown, don't compare it with anything. We break these down in what Odoo really costs, and you can estimate your own project with our calculator.

5. What about e-invoicing?

Every company in Saudi Arabia needs Odoo connected to the ZATCA Fatoora platform. Ask: is the integration in scope or billed later? Who handles device onboarding with ZATCA? What happens when an invoice is rejected? We cover the requirements in ZATCA Phase 2.

6. What does support look like after go-live?

The first weeks after go-live are the hardest. Ask about response times, whether support is available in Arabic, and whether it is a monthly hours contract or pay-per-ticket. A partner who disappears after handover costs more than one who quoted higher at the start.

7. What is the data migration plan?

Customers, vendors, products and opening balances will not move themselves. Ask: who cleans the data? How many test rounds before go-live? Will historical transactions be migrated, or balances only? A clear answer means a partner who has been through this before.

Bottom line

Write these seven questions down, ask every partner in the same order, and compare the answers, not just the prices. If you'd like to start with us, CoreX is an official Odoo partner in Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh, and we're happy to answer all seven in a free meeting.
